The problem with living in Sydney, from a photography point of view, is that if you want to get any of the pictures of the sun over the water, you’ve gotta get up early. Granted its the middle of winter and early is only around 6:30am, but hey, its a psychological thing.
So Ive got some time off work at the moment so a few days ago I bit the bullet and set the alarm. The mornings are pretty chilly here so wrapped up in plenty of clothes and a large coffee, I hit the beach. As usual there were plenty of freaks and wierdos out at that time in the morning – running, 2 or 3 exercise classes, walking the dog. I never ceases to amaze ,e. no matter how early theres always people doing energetic things down by the beach. There was a stiff off shore breeze blowing so I didnt get the stillness on the pool I was hoping for but thankfully there was one sole guy out in the surf who provided me with a subject for plenty of shots. A thin line of cloud on the horizon also thwarted my hopes of getting that little sliver of yellow as it just pushes above the horizon but as the minutes passed by the ocean was lit up
Hope you like them – it may be a while until I can convince myself to get up again
