This year Australia has seen some of the highest snow falls since records began with over 2 and a half metres of the white stuff hitting the slopes in August alone. Quantity isnt everything but thankfully due to consistent low temps and humidity we have seen some of the best quality snow that would rival anywhere in the world.
Strangely enough, the UK also saw unusually high snowfalls over a rare white Christmas last year. So deep were some of the drifts against the gritstone edges of the Peak District that in some places you could literally walk right off the top onto the snow. Just after New Year I took a trip with some friends to Mam Tor, one of the bigger hills in the Peak for an epic days snowboarding. An hour or so’s walk in coupled with waist deep snow provided a great day out
