Longreef is a small headland that sits between Dee Why and Collaroy beaches.
I spotted some shots taken from round here on flickr a few weeks ago and as last night was looking like it might produce a reasonable sunset I thought Id wander down. Living on the East coast sunsets are a bit few and far between so you have to take what you can get.
Whilst not as good as I was hoping (there was a small band of cloud on the horizon) it was still a beautiful evening with a warm breeze blowing giving it a lovely tropical feel. The beach feels a little isolated and you could have easily been on holiday somewhere exotic.
Theres a few HDR shots in this bunch – Ive been trying some of the automated tools on the market but I did these ones all by hand as you get far greater control in photoshop this way than any tool can give
