Headed out with Shelia Binegas a couple of weekends ago to get some bouldering shots that we’ve been trying to get for weeks. It had been raining hard for a couple of days but Sunday dawned with shining sun. Everywhere was drying and a quick check and we were on.
We headed out to the Fear Factory and had a quick look round. Having to wade through the river twice to get to the crag (usually you just walk through in your shoes) should have given us an idea as to what was coming up. The place was soaked. Every shot I had wanted to try was a no go but fortunately the wall below Nancy, a super classic V5 was dry.
I threw some lights up and off we went. The bottom wall is thin but not too bad – the top out however is fairly committing being both high and having just enough holds to make it do able. Unfortunately these were all wet so a hasty retreat was made.
The shots turned out well though – CTO gelled wide light from below bringing the overall level up and then a tightly grided one from the right bringing out some shape. All in all a fun morning
