Its been a pretty hectic few weeks over the Christmas break. I headed over to the UK with the rest of the family for a few weeks of R&R with the folks and a good old bit of UK festive cheer. It Was great to catch up with family and friends and although the weather wasnt kind to us (pretty much 3 weeks of rain) we did our best to get out as much as possible.
Had a little side trip down to London for a few days to show Tom the sights. It’s amazing how interesting and unique all of the historic buildings become when you live in a country thats fairly devoid of any modern history (of course aborginal culture existed long before westerners settled here).
I finished off with a quick trip over to the Chamonix in the French Alps to get a well needed snow fix. Heavy snow just as we arrived gave 3 awesome days of deep snow at some of the best ski areas in the world. That combined with the lack of tourists after New Year made it a fantastic trip which was over all to soon.
Back in Sydney now just in time for the hottest day on record which was fun after a month of temps in the single digits. Hope everyone has a safe and happy 2013!
