This year North Curl Curl SLSC ran the 10th annual 3 points challenge – an open race comprising of 3 ocean swims and a number of runs taking in North and South Curly, and Freshwater beach. This year – whilst the sun gods were with us, the surf gods weren’t playing quite so nicely. A solid 4 to 5 foot swell combined with string rips meant that any swims at Curl Curl beaches were out of the question. Thankfully it was still possible to enter the water at Freshie and a race was on – somewhat favoring the runners rather than the swimmers, the final leg was a grueling 900m soft sand run the full length of the beach to finish under the arch at North Curly. I’ll let the pictures tell the rest of the story – congratulations to all those involved and all those who finished the course.
