So its a few days late, but hope everyone in Oz had a happy Straylia day and made the most of the long weekend. I had a great weekend both with the family and with the camera
A very chilly Saturday was spent on the rope at Elphinstone collecting the final bits of content for an upcoming article in Vertical Life Magazine. As happens all to often in the mountains, what promised to be a nice day in the sun transformed into an icy session in the shade and a howling gale. Must remember to take a jacket even in the height of summer…. Second takeout from the day – also check that your rope is long enough to go up and down the crag Thanks to Simon Carter for sharing my misfortune with the rest of the world on Instagram!
Sunday was spent both battling the crowds down at Circular Quay – believe it or not it gets busy there on the national day, and chilling by the beach in Cronulla at the final of the Australian Boardriders Battle. The surf was thankfully playing nicely after a number of flat days and with a number of competitors who have won the world tour multiple times, the stage was set for a great day. Following the surf-tag format, each team required all 6 members to tae to the water in the 1 hour final and the final result couldn’t have been closer.
